Oh I so relate to this the last days, until yesterday when I finally chose rest instead of “keep going”! When did life become so fast?

Hi Laura! I remember the days when my kiddos were babies. I didn't listen to my body and honor its rhythms. I kept going instead of resting when they slept, which was rare. That poor mom was exhausted. I recently hugged her and reminded her to take care of herself. Thank you for the inspiration to send her some love. Please rest and put your feet up. You deserve it. ❤️

Napping is my superpower. Glad we have a fellow napper in the Heart leap crew. xxx

Hi Blythe!

It was interesting to read about your recent eyebrow procedure for basal cell carcinoma as I had this same procedure also done on my back late last October. A birthday present from my dermatologist! 😒 All went well but it did take awhile for the nine stitches in my back to heal up, leaving a nice scar. So I guess having it done on your eyebrow won't leave any noticeable mark later on.

I was also interested in your mention about the benefits of getting enough rest and napping.

Currently I'm rereading a book that I've had on my Kindle e-reader for quite awhile, titled The Sleep Revolution - by Arianna Huffington. From what I've read so far, to refresh my memory, I find this book to be very interesting.

When you write: "Now, more than ever, we need to check in with ourselves and tend to ourselves. Our nervous systems are overwrought with stress, anxiety, and fear."

I couldn't agree more, my friend.

That said, yesterday afternoon we experienced a few hours of heavy snow fall and freezing rain. So much for thinking that spring had finally arrived, eh? (grrr) Well, later late last night the weather changed into a terrific rain storm - thunder and lightening. It rained "kittens & puppies" (or "cats & dogs"), if you get my drift. 😮 It was enough to wake up my wife but, guess what? I slept like a baby throughout the entire night and didn't hear a thing. This morning I woke up to seeing that the snow had all disappeared. I guess reading that sleep book really helped me since lately I've been not getting enough restful sleep.

So yes, we all need to take better care of ourselves - especially these days.

Take care and I hope you're feeling better (and not cleaning too many dishes ...) 😏
